ProBonoSkills.com (“PBS”) is delighted to announce that Aideen Byrne, Assistant of the Pro Bono and Clinical Legal Education Department at the University of Edinburgh Law School, has joined PBS as a founding member.
Aideen Byrne, co-founder of PBS, said: “I am delighted to join the founding team of PBS and look forward to developing this wonderful initiative. From my experience facilitating Edinburgh’s pro bono and clinical legal education activities, I know how useful this platform will be to students and their clinics once launched.”
In commenting on why she wanted to get involved, Aideen said: “PBS aligns well with both my work in the Pro Bono and Clinical Legal Education Department at the University of Edinburgh, and my general interest in researching how the legal profession can best serve the community locally and globally. Providing consistent and clear training on the fundamentals of pro bono work will not only impact the work that is already being done in law clinics and pro bono projects but will also benefit students beyond their university studies and throughout their legal career.
“PBS is more than just an online training platform for students – it connects students across universities. I believe this foundational training in pro bono at such an early stage in their studies will motivate our future legal professionals to give back to their communities through pro bono.”
